Shawn Walker

Shawn Walker is an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher at GOAL Academy, a statewide blended-learning high school in Colorado, USA. Shawn is the Lead Support Teacher for technology and has earned her Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) certificate. She widely collaborates with teachers across the state helping with sheltered instruction and  differentiating classes. Shawn has presented at professional development forums to colleagues about welcoming new, immigrant families to the United States and supporting students with their academic progress.

Shawn has taught adults from all over the world at both the community college and university levels. Shawn collaborated with the OSU Writing department to teach Technical Writing to international graduate engineering students. While teaching at Chemeketa Community College, Shawn mentored ESL practicum students from Western Oregon University.

When not working, Shawn enjoys reading, science fiction, going for walks in nature, and writing. She is a life-long learner and recently has started to pick up photography.
